What's in a name?

Last night C.E., #77, received his final 13 markers of his Y-DNA67 order mere hours after he'd just been told by FTDNA that he'd likely be waiting until Feb. 2 for it.    I guess all's well that end's well but I expect it could have been a little smoother without the intervening jolt.

Well, C.E. is one of the Barry/Berrys and he and Bill Barry, #79, match each other 67/67.    I think I had been hoping for some slight diffrence between their markers but now I'm not sure that it's not even more interesting to match one another so completely given the surname difference.    Looks like some heavy research needs to be done.

And, good-o.    C.E. remembered to go to his Y-DNA Matches tab on his FTDNA Personal Page and to click on the line that says 'Click here to upload the additional markers to Ysearch.org'.    Uploading new markers is easy to do but just doesn't happen automatically.

In addition, Richard Beery's, #82, sample kit was received by FTDNA yesterday.    The reason that this is a big deal is because of FTDNA's shipment schedule.    Anything arriving back (or any upgrades ordered) before 5:00 p.m. Mountain Time today, Wednesday, get shipped to the lab at that time.    Anything later has to sit around for another week before even going to the lab.    Richard expects to match Michael, #69, and I don't know what we'll call that family.    Maybe we should see if they have any ideas.
